Polish Ministry of Economy and Labour Selects Captaris Workflow to Create Information Portal.

Nieuwegein, Netherlands — April 11, 2005 — Captaris, Inc. (NASDAQ: CAPA), a leading provider of Business Information Delivery solutions, today announced that the Polish Ministry of Economy and Labour selected Captaris Workflow to create an information portal based on Microsoft Content Management Server. The information portal will serve as a single gateway for a wide range of Internet users to access the ministry's information and knowledge base, as well as information about the European Union (EU) Structural Fund. The Ministry needed to ensure that every piece of information published on the Intranet and Ministry portals was complete and accurate, and properly represented the policies and practices of the EU. Complex content creation, editing and approval processes – often involving many people – were the most daunting parts of the project. Captaris Workflow (powered by Teamplate) was deployed to orchestrate these workflows, providing the coordination platform for a team of over 100 workers responsible for supplying content and graphics and conducting timely, accurate and properly approved updates to the portal.

Captaris Workflow combines with Microsoft Content Management Server (CMS) to deliver state-of-the-art business process workflow for any Web publishing process. Captaris Workflow enhances the native workflow capabilities of CMS by adding support for multi-party approval processes. It also provides extensive documentation support to record the "who, what, when and where" of business-critical Web publishing. The Captaris Workflow Wizard for CMS is an easy-to-use extension that leverages the CMS user interface, making it simple for the Ministry administrators, editors and Web publishers to create simple or complex approval workflows with minimal training.

Information is also provided about the pre-accession funds that have already been implemented in Poland and the post-accession instruments from which Poland will benefit as a member of the EU. Poland joined the European Community on May 1, 2004, and became eligible for support from the EU Structural Fund and Cohesion Fund. These funds provide assistance in reducing the development disparities between regions in order to strengthen economic and social cohesion.

Datacom System S.A., a Captaris Partner located in Poland, entered into an agreement with the Polish Ministry of Economy and Labour to provide the software and support services. The project was completed in February 2005 and is supported by Captaris and Microsoft Poland.
