Deployment of the work group server Microsoft Exchange 2007

Within the realisation of the project “Deployment of the work group server Microsoft Exchange 2007”, the Joint-Stock Company Datacom System has conducted the deployment of the system Exchange 2007 Enterprise and the delivery of equipment and software for a large telecommunications company.

The solution has been made available for a group of over 200 users, located in various places. The adequately configured system Exchange 2007 has improved the group work and communication between particular locations of the company. This was possible due to the functional tools such as a mutually shared calendar, notifications, company folders and a global address book.

The post server Exchange has ensured the highest accessibility. It maintains continuity of work even in the case of a failure, thanks to the use of a server cluster and advanced replication mechanisms.

Furthermore, employees have obtained mobile access to the e-mail service, through the use of OWA - access to the system via www.

The realised project included:
  • delivery of the server platform of the company IBM and the software MS Exchange 2007 Enterprise and Standard,
  • deployment of the server cluster MS Exchange 2007 of the type Cluster Continuous Replication, configuration of two Hub Transport servers and two Mailbox Store servers,
  • integration of the system MS Exchange with the system Postfix in two separate geographical locations,
  • performance of the mechanism of updating the list of accounts of the Postfix system on the basis of Active Directory accounts.
Within the project, the company Datacom System also conducted a training of the IT department and made available the service of post-deployment support in the maintenance of the new system.

“The implementation of the Exchange 2007 Server has significantly improved communication in the company. Additionally, connecting the solution with the already existing server Postfix within the same post domain has enables us to reduce costs for so-called function mailboxes and mailboxes, which functionality does not have to be the same as in Exchange 2007 (e.g. for employees of external companies, service technicians, etc.). The entire solution was realised with full professionalism and technical knowledge at the highest level”. said Dominik Pawłowski, IT Department Co-ordinator
